Uncrushable detection through artificial intelligence.
Our company presented at the Minexcellence 2022 event organized by GECAMIN, which was attended by different national and international mining companies, showcasing our solution for automatic Uncrushable detection developed at Codelco’s El Teniente Mine.
The solution consists of implementing an Uncrushable detector system at the Primary Crushing Plant Colón, from CODELCO El Teniente Division, which began with a pilot project carried out during 2018 with successful results. Subsequently, 2020 was in the industrial testing phase. Finally, implementation to operation, a stage that is currently underway.
The detector system analyzes the video stream from four cameras located in front of the Apron Feeder and, using trained artificial intelligence, detects the presence of a foreign element (beam, plates, wire mesh, and reinforcement bolts) alerting the system operator for the detection of the equipment, before this element enters the Primary Crushing.
Currently, this system is in the implementation and commissioning stage at the Divisions of Chuquicamata, Radomoro Tomic, and Salvador.
